Global Hakka Studies is a journal for Hakka researchers all over the world. It aims to promote a world-wide research network and serve as a platform by which Taiwanese and international researchers of different disciplines could share their knowledge of Hakka communities. The main goal of Global Hakka Studies is to encourage the development of academic knowledge pertaining to the Hakka and to encourage related interactions on a local, national and transnational scale. Global Hakka Studies calls for papers from all disciplines that address from various standpoints the issues surrounding the Hakka, including Hakka culture, language, society, history, heritage, communication and so on. Furthermore, apart from gaining more insights into Hakka issues, we also hope that the discussions and the dialogues built up through this journal could encourage people to develop an awareness of and appreciation for the multiculturalism and multiple ethnicities within their society.
